Information requested

All consultation responses received by the Scottish Government during the consultation period for the Bail and Release from Custody Arrangements that took place between November 2021 and February 2022.

Response

The 123 responses to the consultation were published, where we were given permission to do so, on 25th March 2022. They are available from https://consult.gov.scot/justice/bailandreleasefromcustody/. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

18 respondents did not provide permission to publish their response and as such were not included in the above publication. I enclose a document compiling these remaining consultation responses, arranged by question and with all identifying information redacted. Please note that while 17 respondents responded to the closed questions, not all provided a response to the open questions. 1 respondent did not follow the question format of the consultation and their response is therefore included separately at the end of the compilation.

The analysis of the consultation responses was also published on 25th March 2022, and is available from https://www.gov.scot/publications/bail‐release‐custody‐arrangements‐scotland‐consultation‐analysis/. All 142 responses to the consultation were included in that analysis.
