Advise the role of the individual who has ultimate authority of Redress Scotland and to advise the remuneration attached to this role plus any bonuses.

Redress Scotland is a Non-Departmental Public Body and Scottish Ministers are ultimately accountable to the Scottish Parliament for the activities of Redress Scotland and its use of resources.

The Chair of Redress Scotland is accountable to the Scottish Ministers and, in common with any individual with responsibility for devolved functions, may also be held to account by the Scottish Parliament.

The Chief Executive of Redress Scotland is employed and appointed by the Redress Scotland Oversight Board with the approval of the Scottish Ministers. The Chief Executive is the Board’s principal adviser on the discharge of its functions and is accountable to the Board. The Chief Executive role is to provide operational leadership to Redress Scotland.

The remuneration and bonuses for the roles outlined above are as follows:

Scottish Ministers – Cabinet Secretaries receive a salary of £116,759 per year with no bonuses. Junior Ministers receive a salary of £98,045 with no bonuses. This information can be found on the Scottish Parliament website, here. Chair of Redress Scotland – Daily rate of £561, there are no bonuses for this role. Redress Scotland holds information regarding the total remuneration amount to date. The Scottish Government does not hold this information.
