Information requested

I was wondering if it would be possible for you to let me know what the top 5 languages that Social Security Scotland letters are translated into?

Just for the last year but if it is just as easy to have the info from when social security started that would be great.

Response

Social Security Scotland proactively translates benefit information into 12 different languages, which are used throughout Scottish communities.

When a document requires translation, we use the Scottish Governments Interpreting, translation and transcription services framework. The statistics below are based on our procurement requests through this framework.

It’s worth noting that we retain translated templates which are reused for standardised letters.

The top 5 language translations that Social Security Scotland procured for calendar year 2022:

Polish Arabic Ukrainian Romanian Urdu

The top 5 language translations procured since 2019:

Arabic Polish Romanian Urdu Ukrainian
