Agriculture plans communication: EIR release
Information requested
In your email, you requested the following information:
Since May 2021, how many farmers and others in the agricultural sector based in the Moray local authority area have written to the Scottish Government about future plans for Agriculture? Specifically how many farmers and others based in the agriculture sector in Moray have written to Mairi Gougeon about future plans for agriculture since May 2021? And how many Moray-based farmers and others in the agriculture sector have written to both Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater about the future plans for agriculture since May 2021?
Response
The answer to your question is that six pieces of correspondence relating to the future of agriculture have been identified. These all relate to your first question regarding correspondence received by the Scottish Government. On your second and third question relating to three MSPs and Ministers, no relevant correspondence has been identified.
It may be helpful for you to be aware that the responses to the consultation on the Agriculture Bill along with analysis, will be published in due course next year. It may also be useful for you to note that inputting a region is not a pre-requisite when filling out such a consultation, so it may not always be possible to determine how many people in the relevant sector are corresponding from a particular location.
Along with this, please note that the Scottish Government will not receive or hold all correspondence that is written to an individual in their capacity as a constituency MSP.
