Costs involved with First Minister visiting COP27 in Egypt: FOI Release

You asked for the following information; full and itemised costs involved with the First Minister and her entourage visiting the COP27 conference in Egypt. Along with who in that government authorised her attendance at this conference?
Response
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. We have answered your questions where possible and explained where we are unable to do that at this time.
The information on cost is currently incomplete. We are collating the cost information and aim to publish it within the next few months.
The costs of sending Scottish ministers and Scottish Government officials to the COP27 summit is paid for by the Scottish Government.
The First Minister travels for a range of reasons including ensuring that the people of Scotland are effectively represented and that Scotland’s voice is heard on important issues. Scotland has much to offer. We have a vision for Scotland, one that is not only net zero, but is also fairer, resilient to irreversible impacts of climate change, and focused on improving our wellbeing. The First Minister and Minister for Environment and Land Reform attended this year’s summit in Egypt to demonstrate once again, our commitment to tackling the twin crises of climate and nature in tandem – and in a way that is just and fair for all.
