International Committee of Education Advisors recruitment: FOI release

Information on how the members of the ICEA, who advise the Scottish Government on the NIF policy, were recruited and selected.
Response
Members of the ICEA are selected and invited to join the Council based on their international reputation for being world-leading education experts with a range of knowledge and extensive experience of advising educators and governments on education leadership, school improvement and reform. For example, several of the members of the ICEA were made recipients of the Robert Owen Award, which recognises an educator who best exemplifies the vision, principles and values of Robert Owen and who has made a significant contribution to Scottish education, prior to their appointment on the Council. Members of the ICEA are appointed by the First Minister on a two-year term and meet bi-annually in Scotland to discuss various issues relating to Scotland’s education system and related themes.
