Information requested

Information regarding all costs associated with gardening at Scottish Government facilities since 2007 and if possible to have these costs broken down for each year per facility.

Response

The Scottish Government only retain records from financial year 2012 for grounds maintenance costs. These are provided on the attached spreadsheet and broken down by property. The Scottish Government does not hold costs for gardening as this is included in general hard landscaping and allows for items such as grass cutting, maintenance of bio-diversity gardens, flower planting, leaf and litter picking. In 2021, the Scottish Government's Facilities Management contract was renewed and the cost profiling for the contract was revised in such as way that gardening costs were incorporated into general hard services costs. This includes other costs such as building services/engineering maintenance. Therefore, it is not possible to break gardening costs out from these more general costs for the current financial year or going forward. About FOI
