For us to distinguish between errors of processing’ and ‘errors relating to erroneous procedures.

Response

Our current system does not capture the split that you have requested but I can provide information regarding overpayments that were made:

20/21 – Errors caused by business area or employee: 76 Errors caused by HR: 64 Total: 140

21/22 – Errors caused by business area or employee: 130 Errors caused by HR: 20 Total: 150

You also asked for us provide details of ‘the number of HR payroll staff employed by the Scottish Government, and the breakdown in grades (last 2 years)’ which I provide below:
