Scottish schools inspection reports available via the Education Scotland website: FOI release
Information requested
We are looking to establish how many Scottish schools have an up to date inspection report that can be accessed via the Education Scotland website. To this end could you please tell me: Request 1: How many primary, secondary and special schools are listed on the “inspection reports” section of the Education Scotland website. Request 2: How many of these primary, secondary and special schools have an up to date inspection report that can be accessed via the site because the latest inspection is no more than five years old.
Response
Education Scotland’s practice is to publish school inspection reports on its website upon completion of the inspection. Education Scotland removes inspection reports from its public facing website after five years. These reports are retained and can be accessed by requesting a copy from Education Scotland. Request 1 – In response to how many primary, secondary and special schools are listed on the “inspection reports” section of the Education Scotland website:
Primary = 2102 Secondary = 421 Special = 199
Request 2 – In response to how many of these primary, secondary and special schools have an up to date inspection report that can be accessed via the site because the latest inspection is no more than five years old:
Primary = 816 Secondary = 176 Special = 84
Notes There are some schools that have reports that are both visible and older than five years. This is due to the timing of archiving reports from the web site. Inspection reports on our website also include further inspection reports. I hope you find this information helpful. About FOI
