The registration, make and model of Transport Scotland fleet vehicles.

Please see below most of the information you requested. Please note an exemption under section 30(c) of FOISA (prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs) has been applied to a small amount of the information requested. This exemption has been applied to the full registration number of the fleet vehicles, however we have provided you with the partial registration numbers. Disclosing this information in full publicly would mean that Transport Scotland staff would be readily identifiable when in transit and carrying out their duties which risks our staff being less comfortable to use our current fleet vehicles for necessary work related commuting. This exemption is subject to the ‘public interest test’. Therefore, taking account of all the circumstances of this case, we have considered if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. We have found that, on balance, the public interest lies in favour of upholding the exemption. We recognise that there is a public interest in disclosing information as part of open, transparent and accountable government. However, there is a greater public interest in our staff being able to freely exercise their duties.
