Low Income Pandemic Payments: FOI release
Information requested
The total allocation for the Low Income Pandemic Payment set by the Scottish Government, how much was circulated by local councils, and how much if any went unallocated/and what happened to this.
Response
The answer to your question is that £72,766,540 (£68,94,540 for payments and £3,820,000 for fixed admin costs) will be allocated to local authorities for the Low Income Pandemic Payment. During the period of delivery (by end November 2021) local authorities report making Low Income Pandemic Payments totalling £68,94,540 to 530,358 households. A breakdown of payments by local authority can be found at: Pandemic support payments 2021 - gov.scot (www.gov.scot). The Scottish Government will only provide funding to councils in respect of fixed administration costs and for payments actually made. This resource will be allocated by the end of March 2022 through redetermination of the General Revenue Grant. On this basis no funding was unallocated by local authorities. About FOI
