Information requested

https://twitter.com/theSNP/status/1481953129730088961?s=20. The SNP advert above claims 1000 schools built or upgraded. What constitutes an upgrade in SNP terms? Is it a contract value, or any repair?

Response

Statistics from the 2021 School Estates Core Facts Survey show that 1,000 schools have been built or substantially refurbished since 2007-08. Only builds or refurbishments costing at least half a million pounds for primary and at least one million pounds for secondary and special schools are included this figure. For more information on the survey and statistics on school buildings, please refer to the most recent publication, available at: https://www.gov.scot/collections/school-educationstatistics/#schoolestatesstatistics.
