Education Scotland workforce structure: FOI release

Seeking information on the structure of the Education Scotland’s workforce, including the number of staff at each level (headcount and FTE).
Response
Education Scotland is the national improvement agency for education in Scotland. We are charged with supporting quality and improvement in Scottish education and thereby securing the delivery of better learning experiences and outcomes for learners of all ages. Our role means that, in addition to supporting the system and gathering evidence on the performance of the system, we also provide professional analysis and interpret a wide range of data relating to Scottish education, adding value to Scottish education by making sense of the system in its totality. Our agency is organised into five directorates, of which Scrutiny (which contains our HM Inspectors and their support function) is one. We have four other directorates, which are listed below along with their headcount and FTE:
Scrutiny - 90 (85.24 FTE) Regional Improvement - 142 (129.91 FTE) National Improvement - 45 (42.23 FTE) Professional Leadership and Learning - 14 (13.57 FTE) Corporate Services - 80 (71.5 FTE) CLD Standards Council - 6 (5.6 FTE)
