Information requested

Can you let me know how many active blue badges you have in Scotland and how many people were prosecuted for misusing blue badges last year or point me in the right direction so I can find the data for myself.

Response

There were 235,779 live Blue Badges in Scotland in November 2021. The Scottish Government does not hold a breakdown of Blue Badge misuse prosecutions. This is because the enforcement of the Blue Badge scheme is solely the responsibility of local authorities and the Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Act 2009 does not require Transport Scotland to collect this data. To seek a breakdown of badge misuse prosecutions, please contact local authorities directly. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. About FOI

The Scottish Government is committed to publishing all information released in response to Freedom of Information requests. View all FOI responses at http://www.gov.scot/foi-responses.
