Attached is the list of all schools in Scotland, in alphabetical order, with the date of last inspection.
The data is provided in a spreadsheet to allow you to organise the data according to your requirements.
Notes on the data provided:
1. The list of local authority and grant aided schools is taken from the Scottish Schools Contact Details as at July 2021 (updated September 2021) published on the Scottish Government website. 2. The list of independent schools is taken from the Independent Schools in Scotland - Register as at September 2021 published on the Sottish Government website. 3. The lists contain primary, secondary, all through, special and special residential schools that are open and would be eligible for inspection. 4. The date of last inspection is the date of the visit to the school as part of the inspection process. 5. The date is calculated based on the original inspection and does not include any subsequent further inspections which took place as a result of the outcome of the original inspection. 6. This data includes schools that are open either as a new school or through a merger or units providing additional support needs services which have not yet been selected for inspection. 7. When a new independent school is opened it is subject to a post registration inspection. 8. Schools that provide boarding accommodation would have been subject to school care accommodation service inspections that were conducted by HM Inspectors and the Care Commission (now Care Inspectorate). 9. In addition to inspections, independent schools may be selected for a quality improvement through engagement visits by HM Inspectors. These visits result in a published report on the Education Scotland website. 10. On 13 March 2020, Education Scotland paused all inspection activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 11. Inspections that have taken place since then were in response to instruction by Scottish Ministers under section 66 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980.
