Information requested

Further to today’s announcement from Culture Minister Jenny Gilruth that £6.5m worth of Government funding has been allocated to the King’s Theatre Edinburgh Redevelopment Project, can you please confirm what Government fund this has been allocated from and confirm that this has not been allocated from funds given to the Scottish Government from the UK Government in relation to Covid recovery?

Response

The answer to your question is the Scottish Government can confirm that the £6.5m funding announced for the King's Theatre Redevelopment Project is being committed from future years’ Culture capital budgets, i.e. none in the current financial year, in line with the project timescale running to 2024. The Scottish Government can confirm that none of the funding which is being provided comes from the consequential funding received from the UK Government related to COVID recovery.
