Information requested

Information in relation to the recent recruitment campaign for Non-Executive members for Social Security Scotland. 1: How many candidates have been shortlisted? 2: How many of those are a guaranteed interview? 3: How many were disabled? 4: How many were Black, Asian and minority ethnic?

Response

1: Seven candidates were shortlisted for interview. In response to your requests for information 2, 3 and 4 we consider that this information is exempt under Section 38(1)(b). While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we consider that the exemption applies to the information you have requested. The reason for this is that we consider the information requested to be the personal data of third parties. In order to assist you, and to protect the identities of those involved, we have provided information on groupings of less than 5 individuals. These have been suppressed and a range provided. Where the answer is zero this would be disclosed and not be withheld. The suppressed information we can provide is as follows: Of the 7 invited to interview:

Between 1 and 4 were granted an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme. Between 1 and 4 identified as disabled. Between 1 and 4 identified as being from a minority ethnic background.
