Impact of Engender on policy and practice correspondence: FOI release
Information requested
Could you provide me with copies of all information, including but not limited to correspondence, notes of telephone calls and emails held by Scottish Government on any assessment carried out by the Scottish Government, or carried out by others but submitted to the Scottish Government, of Engender and its impact on policy and practice. Any information regarding the efficacy of Engender, a Scottish Government funded body, regarding public engagement is also requested, particularly comparing Engender with other similar groups which claim to advocate for the right of women in Scotland.

Attached is a copy of some of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we don't have the information are explained below. The Scottish Government has not undertaken or received information relating to an assessment of Engender’s impact on policy or practice. The Scottish Government does however assess all organisations that apply for Scottish Government funding to determine if they are capable of meeting the funding requirements and in some instances this includes the organisations previous impact on policy development. For this reason I have attached grant offer letters containing applications from Engender and progress reports which the Scottish Governments has used to assessed the efficacy of Engender to meet the requirements of continued funding. Please note that some personal information such as names, contact details and bank details have been redacted for GDPR purposes.
