Following Parliamentary Question S6W-40553 for payments to social media influencers and who they are.
Response
Scottish Government marketing activity is commissioned through the Marketing and Media Services Frameworks. The Scottish Government does not directly pay individuals or media organisations. Payment is made from the appointed Scottish Government media or marketing agency to the recipient.
Table A shows the list of influencers during the timeframe requested and is correct at time of writing. Individual agreements and contracts with influencers are negotiated between the appointed marketing agencies and the individual and approved by the Scottish Government. These individual fees cannot be disclosed by the Scottish Government as they represent commercially-sensitive information and an exemption under s33(1)(b) of FOISA (Commercial Interest) applies.
