Information requested

Any energy efficiency assessments or analysis that the Scottish government carries out, or is carried out on behalf of the Scottish Government, or that the Scottish Government is aware of, that makes use of energy usage metered data from electricity & gas smart meters.

Response

The Scottish Government, as part of the Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland (HEEPS) and Area Based Schemes (ABS) collects information about householders energy bills via councils and managing agents. This information is requested from householders as part of a survey and does not involve detailed smart meter data. Given the position of the incomplete smart meter rollout, it is not possible to request smart meter data from all homes. With the exception of the above, the Scottish Government does not conduct any energy efficiency assessments or analysis that makes use of energy usage metered data from electricity and gas smart meters nor are any such assessments carried out on its behalf.
