"How many responses to Freedom of Information requests are currently awaiting publication? Over the past 12 months, how many FOI responses have been awaiting publication for (a) less than a month, (b) 1-6 months and (c) more than 6 months? Please provide a copy of communications discussing delays of greater than 3 months in publishing those FOIs listed above".

How many responses to Freedom of Information requests are currently awaiting publication? On 4th February 2020 there were 9 Freedom of Information requests awaiting publication Over the past 12 months, how may FOI responses have been awaiting publication for (a) less than a month, (b) 1-6 months and (c) more than 6 months? We have published 1,623 responses in the 12 months to 4 February 2020. Having interrogated the website data, information relating to the timescales taken to publish is shown in the table below:

Please provide a copy of communications discussing delays of greater than 3 months in publishing those FOIs listed above. The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. As part of its commitment to openness and transparency, the Scottish Government publishes FOI responses in which information is released, and aims to do so as quickly as possible after a response is issued.
However, there is no statutory requirement to do so - and no requirement to publish within a given timescale. As such, we do not routinely retain information about any 'delays' to publication. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
