Baby boxes: numbers issued from roll-out and take-up rate: FOI release

You asked how many Baby Boxes have been issued from the roll-out of the scheme to date of this request, and what is the current take-up rate of the Baby Boxes.
Response
116,141 Baby Boxes have been issued from the roll-out of Scotland’s Baby Boxes on 15 August 2017 up until 11 December 2019. The indicative current take-up rate is 96%. The take- up rate is calculated by comparing expected due dates from the Baby Box registration with the National Records of Scotland’s recorded birth figures. Actual birth date data is not collected, therefore this figure can only provide an indication of take up.
