Information requested

You asked for the following information on the DipHE Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI):

Does Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) consider the course as an SQA qualification or a Qualification of Higher Education? Does SAAS consider the course as a HND or a DipHE for funding purposes? Is the DipHE labelled as an HND on the SAAS database or as a DipHE? Please provide a copy of the database entry. If SAAS considers the course an HND, please provide evidence of the reasons for this.

Response

Does Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) consider the course as an SQA qualification or a Qualification of Higher Education? Does SAAS consider the course as a HND or a DipHE for funding purposes?

The course is a Higher Education Qualification that sits at SCQF level 8 on the framework. It is funded by SAAS as a DipHE. HND and DipHE are exactly the same on the framework in terms that they both sit at level 8.

Is the DipHE labelled as an HND on the SAAS database or as a DipHE? Please provide a copy of the database entry.

Please see below the information we received from UHI in order for us to register it on our database.

If SAAS considers the course an HND, please provide evidence of the reasons for this.

SAAS have received the above information from UHI in relation to the course and therefore consider it a Diploma of Higher Education qualification.
