Education Scotland’s closed circuit television and support contract: FOI release

Information on Education Scotland’s CCTV and support contract.
Response
Education Scotland do not currently have a contract, or agreement in place for CCTV maintenance or support. Information about Education Scotland’s contracts register can be obtained from our website: https://education.gov.scot/who-we-are/policies-and-information/Procurement.

A variety of cameras are in place within the buildings Education Scotland occupy which include Panasonic and Hikvision. There are 22 cameras in use. As Education Scotland occupy space in buildings managed by private landlords there may be further brands and numbers of cameras in place under their responsibility. There is not a breakdown of spend specific to CCTV maintenance available. Arrangements for CCTV and support will be reviewed during 2019-20 and 2020-21. Responsibility for physical security and facilities management services falls within the Head of Finance, Infrastructure and Analysis within Education Scotland.
