Statistical data detailing the number of funded projects per annum within the twelve specified economic activity areas from 2012-2018.
Response
Some of the information you have requested is available on our website /publications/esif-operations-funding/. This lists all projects approved as part of the 2014-2020 European Social Fund. The spreadsheet details all approved projects, their start dates, and lists the economic activity supported by each project. For those listed as 'other unspecified services', please see the 'description' column as this gives an overview of the type of activity being delivered.

I have provided information below detailing the number of projects approved under the 2007-2013 ESF programmes under each category for each year. I've also attached a list of these projects and the economic activity linked to them.
Projects 2007-2013 ESF programmes
ESF projects generally run for a 2-3 year period. I am not clear as to whether you are looking for the number of projects live in each year, meaning each project would be counted more than once, or if the figures you are looking for are based on the project's start date. I have therefore provided both. The spreadsheet provided details the start and end dates if you need further information.

The list of economic activities under the 2007-2013 ESF programmes does not exactly match the list in your request. I have provided these as per the EC regs for the 2007-13 programmes. Those listed under 'other unspecified services' include consultancy support to SMEs and support to individuals with barriers to the workforce.
