Minutes/notes from meetings between the Scottish Government and the Scottish Animal Welfare Commission from the last month.

There were three meetings held between the Scottish Government and SAWC in the last month:

14 August – SAWC Plenary. The minutes of the meeting have now been published and are available to view on the SAWC web page at this link.

20 August – Local Authorities Handling Animal Welfare Issues Work Group Meeting. Copies of the minutes are attached at Annex A.

28 August - Local Authorities Handling Animal Welfare Issues Work Group Meeting. Copies of the minutes are attached at Annex B.

Direct correspondence between the SAWC and Ministers from the last month.

There was one invitation sent on 14 August from the Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity, inviting SAWC to attend a Scottish Government Roundtable to discuss potential alternative farrowing systems and practices that could improve pig welfare in Scotland. This is attached at Annex C. Please note that no SAWC representative attended this meeting.
