Records of incidents which have occurred on NorthLink Ferries: FOI release
Information requested
Records [that] were kept of incidents of concern on the boats. I would therefore like to request the full record log for the past three years: 2023; 2024 and 2025. If the full log is not available, I would like to know the following details:
1) When each incident was recorded
2) A general description of the incident - e.g. passenger verbally abusive towards another passenger or member of staff/passenger behaving in drunk manner/passenger assaulted member of staff etc.
3) Whereabouts on the ferry this occurred? E.g. in reception area/in pod lounge/ in restaurant. 4) Summary of what was done in response e.g. reported to police.
Response
I enclose some of the requested information that is held by Transport Scotland in a separately attached PDF document.
However, we do not hold specific information about where each incident occurred on the vessel.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because Serco NorthLink Ferries has not shared this information with the Scottish Government.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
However, you may wish to contact Serco NorthLink Ferries at CustomerServicesDepartment@northlinkferries.co.uk who may be able to help you.
