Information requested

May I enquire how many public sector contracts have been awarded to Supported Businesses in Scotland over the last 24 months, either through competitive tendering or as a direct award, along with a list of these contracts?

Response

The answer to your question is:

The data you have requested is not reported to the Scottish Government in the form of "contracts". Public Bodies in Scotland do however report individual transactions with their suppliers. I am able to provide details of transactions reported between Scottish Public Bodies and Supported Businesses (as listed in the Ready For Business Supported Business Register http://readyforbusiness.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/RfB-Supported-Business-Register-030317.pdf). Relevant transactions for the two most recent available financial years (2015/16 & 2016/17) are presented below. Relevant transactions for financial year 2017/18 are not yet available.

Financial Year 2015/16 Financial Year 2016/17 Reported Transactions between Public Bodies and Supported Businesses 8203 9024 Average Transaction Value £1,867 £1,446

It should be noted that the Scottish Government is reliant on Public Bodies to reportall transactions.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have full detail of the information you have requested. You may wish to contact the Public Bodies directly who may be able to provide you with the information you have requested at a contractual level.

For future reference, individual contracts which are over the EU threshold will be advertised on PCS Scotland: https://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/
