Information requested

Please provide full and comprehensive details of the portfolio of investments held by the Scottish Government to provide pensions for civil servants and retired MSP's. Please provide details retrospectively from 2008 until the present.

Response

The answer to your question is all Principal Civil Service Pension Schemes (PCSPS) are defined benefit schemes. These schemes are not invested.

The Scottish Government does not provide pensions for retired MSPs. MSPs are eligible for the Scottish Parliamentary pension scheme which is administered by The Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA). You can contact SPPA at www.sppa.gov.uk.
