Information requested

'Could you please provide me with the following information dating from 2007 until the current date under the Freedom of Information Act Scotland.

1) Number of corrections made to Gaelic signage which had been misspelled across the country, broken down into each region/area and the costs incurred as a result.

2) Details of the misspellings and their translations.'

Response

On the Trunk Road Network, since 2007, 17 signs on the Great Glen Cycle Route, from Fort William to Inverness have been corrected at a cost of £1725. The following table outlines the misspellings, corrections and their translations.

Reasons for not providing information

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, Transport Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested. Therefore we are refusing your request under the exception at regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs. The reasons why this exception applies is that Transport Scotland only have responsibility for Trunk Roads. All local roads are the responsibility of the Local Authority.
