Ministerial decision to publish FOI requests: FOI release
Information requested
All correspondence between the relevant ministers and Scottish Government officials about the decision, last month, to publish all FOI requests on the Scottish Government's website as soon as they are issued to the requester.
Response
The decision to publish all FOI responses which release information was made during routine discussions between the Minister for Parliamentary Business and Scottish Government officials. This followed complaints from journalists that the Scottish Government had stopped publishing information on its previous FOI Disclosure Log.
I enclose at Annex A extracts from a briefing paper which officials provided to the Minister, which confirmed the decision to publish FOI releases and set out the rationale.
