The total cost incurred by the Scottish Government in preparing, running and analysing the consultation (on a draft referendum bill), broken down into distinct areas.

The Scottish Government holds the following information you have asked for. The costs incurred by the Scottish Government in publishing the consultation paper and analysing the responses (as at 6th July) are set out in the following table:

Consultation - Printing and Web Conversion £3,584.16 Consultations - BSL, Easyread and Gaelic Consultation Analysis £1,261.70 Consultation Analysis £16,010.56 Consultation Analysis - Web conversion of report £635.53 Consultation Analysis - Web conversion of SG Response £177.24 Consultation Analysis - BSL Translation £924 Total (as at 6th July, all figures all inclusive of VAT, where appropriate £22,593.19

Staff Costs

The work that has been undertaken to date has been carried out by existing members of staff as part of their normal duties. In line with usual practice, no record has been taken of the number staff who have been involved in this work or the number of hours spent on individual tasks, as there is no business need to do this.
