Information requested

I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requesting all the current wellbeing policies and programmes initiated or in progress by the Scottish Government, which are also centred around Scottish start ups and SME businesses in general.

Response

A core element of Scotland’s enterprise policy is supporting the growth and impact of social enterprises as part of a wellbeing economy. The Scottish Government’s 10 year Social Enterprise Strategy and the current 2024-26 Action Plan set out our commitment to supporting social enterprises to start, grow and contribute to fair, sustainable economic development.

For financial year 2026/27, almost £6.3 million has been allocated to maintain core programmes that help social enterprises build resilience, expand market opportunities and increase their economic impact. This funding will maintain key programmes that help social enterprises start and grow, strengthen the wider ecosystem, expand market opportunities, and support the sector’s contribution to a fairer, greener wellbeing economy. Furthermore, this funding will ensure continuity of core support services, business development programmes and sector infrastructure, enabling social enterprises to continue delivering economic and social impact across Scotland.
