Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) expenses claims of non-executive board members: FOI release
Information requested
I would like to make a request for information relating to the expenses claims of non-executive board members. I am specifically interested in the policy and procedures your members follow to make claims and any information from April 2022 about expenses paid.

Expenses Claims
We can confirm that all non-executive board members (NEBMs) fee claim details, including expenses where applicable, are recorded and disclosed in our annual accounts, which are published each year on our website. These accounts provide a transparent overview of all payments made to non-executive members, in line with public reporting obligations.
Policy and Procedures
We follow the procedure as outlined by the Scottish Government (SG) for processing NEBM expenses. The process is as follows:
Non-Executive Board Members are requested to submit their expenses claims on a monthly basis. Submitted claims include supporting documentation and are collated internally. All claims are submitted to the Scottish Government Pay Team by the 10th of each month to ensure timely processing and payment within the same month.
This process ensures that all claims are appropriately reviewed, documented, and submitted in accordance with SG policy and financial controls.
