Information requested

All written materials, dating from 1 October 2024 to present date, to and from Scottish Ministers regarding parliamentary written questions from Craig Hoy or Murdo Fraser. This should include, but not be limited to, draft responses for approval, background notes, adjustment requests or approval messages from Ministers, and advice to Ministers directing how to answer the written question.

Response

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.

Some of the information you have requested is available from the Questions and answers page on the Scottish Parliament’s website. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. Where the draft answer and the final answer do not differ, we have not provided the draft answer.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 38(1)(b) (personal information), 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice) and 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why those exemptions apply are explained in the Annex to this letter.
