Copies of correspondence from education organisations, schools, and teachers received by the Scottish Government regarding recent cuts to the education budget.
Response
I enclose a copy of correspondence dated 6 December 2024 from Colleges Scotland to the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government. No further correspondence was identified.
More broadly, despite the very difficult financial circumstances we have increased the Education and Skills portfolio budget. The Scottish Budget set out in Parliament in December presented an increase to the resource budget by £158m in cash terms from £3036m to £3194m; a 3% increase in real terms.
