Education Scotland staff statistics: FOI release
Information requested
The total number of hours worked by Education Scotland employees in the Financial Year 2023-24, broken down by hours worked in the office, hours worked on visits and inspections, and hours worked remotely.
Response
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Education Scotland does not have the information you have requested. This is because we do not capture the work of our employees on an hourly basis.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Education Scotland does not have the information you have requested.
We can, however, provide you with the following information:
1. As at 31 March 2024, Education Scotland employed a total of 356.4 full-time equivalent staff (FTE).
2. Of this 356.4 FTE, 108.8 FTE were located within the Inspectorate function of Education Scotland.
3. The standard full time contractual work day during academic year 2023-24 was 7.4 hours.
4. Details of the numbers of FTE within Education Scotland and the work carried out, including inspection are set out in Education Scotland’s Annual Report and Accounts which are published here.
