Capital transformation scheme savings: FOI release
Information requested
Confirmation of how much of the ‘savings’ from previous budgets will be delivered through the new capital transformation scheme in 2026-27.
Response
We cannot confirm specifically how much will be delivered through the new scheme as it has yet to be developed.
A footnote under table 10.02 of the recently published 2025-26 Scottish Budget confirms that the balance of savings will be returned as capital in 2026 -27. The footnote reads: “Includes £20m RALRI savings utilised in previous Scottish Budgets, the remainder of these savings will be returned as capital funding in 2026-27.”
