BaxterStorey Scotland Limited and food waste disposal service costs: EIR release
Information requested
1. A breakdown in costs for how much money has been paid to BaxterStorey Scotland Limited in each of the 12 months up to the most recent month for which you have figures available, with a breakdown of location (ie per each Scottish Government building).
2. A breakdown in costs on food waste disposal services by the Scottish Government in each of the 12 months up to the most recent month for which you have figures available, with a breakdown of location (ie per each Scottish Government building).
3. Of the costs spent on food waste disposal services, how much of this was attributed to food disposed from BaxterStorey Limited facilities?

Please see attachment 1 which provides a breakdown of costs in how much money has been paid to Baxter Storey Limited per month by location for each of the 12 months up to the most recent month for which figures are available.

3. Of the costs spent on food waste disposal services, how much of this was attributed to food disposed from Baxter Storey Limited facilities?
Core Scottish Government buildings include facilities for staff to prepare their own meals – such as microwave ovens in tea preparation areas. Any food waste resulting from staff preparing their own meals should be placed in local food waste bins. There is no separation of food waste collected from these local bins and that resulting from BaxterStorey’s delivery of catering services (preparation waste, plate waste etc.).
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Therefore we are refusing your request under the exception at regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs. Under the terms of the exception at regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs (information not held), the Scottish Government is not required to provide information which it does not have.
