For each of the last 10 financial years, please provide the following:

1. How many Scottish Government employees have had their employment terminated specifically following a performance review process?

2. How many Scottish Government employees are currently on a performance review process?

3. How many Scottish Government employees received: a) Partly Effective Marking b) Not Effective Marking

For the above, please also reflect these as a percentage of the total performance markings given in the relevant year.

I have now completed my review of our response to your request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) for:

Your original request

For each of the last 10 financial years, please provide the following information

1. How many Scottish Government employees terminated specifically following a performance review process. 2. How many Scottish Government employees are currently on a performance review process? 3. How many Scottish Government employees received: 1. Partially Effective Marking 2. Not Effective Marking

In your review request you queried the information provided for item 1, as we had not provided it by financial year. You asked for the information to be separated into those whose performance was terminated following a performance review and those who were terminated during the probationary period.

I have concluded that the original decision should be confirmed with modifications. I apologise for the over sight of not applying the information broken down by financial years and I have now provided the information in that format. The Scottish Government’s probationary period is that of a 9 month duration and I have separated the information to show the numbers of officials whose employment was terminated during their appropriate probationary period within any given financial year” as the dates of this will have differed depending on the individual.
