I have now completed a review of our response to your request under case ID 202400393320.
"All correspondence, briefings or any documents relating to Nadia El-Nakla's attendance at the summit for national leaders’ spouses in Istanbul in November".
Your Request
You asked us to review whether the exemptions applied to the information released were appropriate.
Our Response
In the materials released, exemptions were applied five times in Annex A, section 4. Having studied the materials, I've concluded that two of the paragraphs under this section should have the exemption overturned. The exemption that had been used against these paragraphs related to free and frank advice. I have overturned the exemption because the text relates to an ask for advice rather than the provision of advice. These sections of text are now visible in the attached document. I deem all other exemptions have been applied fairly.
I would like to offer our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
