1. How many meetings have the Scottish Government held with Sanjeev Gupta or representatives of him since January 2023 until the date of this FOI?

2. Minutes/notes from these meetings and a list of attendees?

3. All briefings for ministers prepared about Sanjeev Gupta and his companies between January 2023 and the date of this FOI?

4. All correspondence, including internal correspondence, between the Scottish Government, outside bodies and Sanjeev Gupta and his representatives, about Sanjeev Gupta between January 2023 and the date of this FOI?.

Response

Please find attached the response to your request. We confirm in relation to your numbered questions that:-

1. There has been one meeting arranged with Mr Gupta on 25 July 2023 with the Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy, Neil Gray. Unfortunately Mr Gupta was unable to attend and Mr Jeffrey Kabel, Chief Transformation Officer of GFG Alliance, attended as his representative.

2. Minutes from the above meeting are attached.

3. The briefing pack provided to Mr Gray for the above meeting is attached.

4. Correspondence regarding Sanjeev Gupta from January 2023 to date is attached.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible in this case as exemptions under sections of FOISA apply. The reasons for this are set out in the annex of this letter.
