Information requested

The average waiting time for a homeless person in Scotland before being provided with a permanent residence.

This data should be broken down by area and county.

Response

I enclose a copy of the information you requested. The excel spreadsheet contains the average time (days) from assessment to closure for applications with an outcome in a settled accommodation. This is based on only applications that were assessed as unintentionally homeless or threatened with homelessness and where contact was maintained throughout the application. Settled accommodation includes Local Authority, Registered Social Landlord (Housing Association), and Private rented tenancies. Data provided is broken down local authority.

There is a second table which also provides the underlying number of households that the average time is based on.

The Scottish Government Homelessness statistics data collection gathers information on the outcomes of homelessness applications.
