Scottish Canals pay deal: FOI release
Information requested
Whether I would be eligible to receive backdated pay through the Scottish Canals' pay deal. A copy of the pay deal agreement that the Scottish government have approved.
Response
The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for in response to the first part of your request as this is operational detail which only Scottish Canals would have.
However, you may wish to contact Scottish Canals HR Team at HR@scottishcanals.co.uk who may be able to help you following the conclusion of negotiations.
In response to the second part of your request we are not able to disclose all of this information as negotiations are still underway relating to the pay deal and therefore Exemption s.30 c applies.
Information relating to your second question, where we hold the relevant information, is attached to this letter.
Reasons for not providing some information
The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for in relation to the first question you have. This is a matter for Scottish Canals and not one in which the Scottish Government is involved. An exemption under section 30 (c) of FOISA ( otherwise prejudice effective conduct of public affairs) applies to some of the information requested. This exemption is subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. We have concluded in this case as negotiations are still progressing that it is not in the public interest to disclose this information at this time.
