Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

In processing this information, it was learned that an additional meeting which took place between the Deputy First Minister and Lord Brailsford on 25 October 2022 was not, due to an administrative error, recorded on the ministerial engagements record. For the sake of completeness and to provide assistance to you, I have expanded my response to your request to also include material linked to the meeting of 25 October. The ministerial engagements record has also been updated.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under:

section 38(1)(b) (personal information) and section 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice) and section 30(b)(ii) free and frank exchange of views) and section 30 (c) (prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs) section 25(1) (information otherwise accessible) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in the annex to this letter.

You will note that the information retrieved for each part of your request is attached as a separate document. There is no document attached in relation to request 1c, as an exemption under section 30(c) of FOISA applies to all of the retrieved information for this request. Further information on this exemption is contained in the annex to this letter.
