Information requested
Scottish Ministers’ correspondence (including emails, letters, attachments to emails, meetings and records of phone calls) with the Scottish Sentencing Council regarding their consultation on Statutory Offences of Causing Death by Driving. You requested all correspondence including any meetings with Scottish Ministers from the 22 September 2021 to the present date.

I attach a copy of some of the information you requested at Annexes A to C. Annex A contains extracts from two pieces of correspondence within the date range you provided between the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans and the Lord Justice Clerk. An extract of each document has been provided because large elements of the content is out of scope of your request. In addition, some of the information you have requested is available from the Scottish Sentencing Council's website. Specifically, the attachments to the email dated 29 August 2022 from the Lord Justice Clerk to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans at Annex B contains a copy of the causing death by driving consultation paper, draft impact assessment and draft sentencing guideline.
