Emerging Technologies: FOI release
Information requested
1) Confirmation as to whether the Independent Advisory Group on Emerging Technologies presented its interim report to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans.
2) Minutes of the meeting between the Advisory Group and the Cabinet Secretary that took place on 21 June 2022.
3) Confirmation as to the action the Scottish Government is taking as a result of the meeting and interim report findings.
Response
The answers to your question are:
1. The Independent Advisory Group on Emerging Technologies presented its interim report to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans on the 24 June 2022.
2. The meeting that took place on the 21 June 2022 did not involve the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans. It was a meeting of the Independent Advisory Group and the minutes can be found at the following link - Independent advisory group on emerging technologies in policing minutes: June 2022 -gov.scot (www.gov.scot) 3. Following the receipt of the interim report, the Scottish Government will continue to provide secretariat support to the Independent Advisory Group as they move into the next stage of their work. The Final Report from the Group is expected towards the end of this year.
