Information requested

Scottish Government and Transport Scotland directly fund Sustrans. I would like to know: Whether this funding is in the form of a grant, loan, contract or some other means? If it is a grant or loan how long the grant agreement will last? If it is a contract, how long the contract will last. If it is not a contract, what consideration have Scottish Government given to Tendering the contract so other companies might bid?

Response

The funding to Sustrans is in the form of Grant, where we currently have an agreement to grant fund them for 2022-23. Future grants will be subject to on-going monitoring and evaluation, and the Scottish Parliamentary budget process that determines the amount of funding available for the active travel budget. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Scottish Government does not hold information relating to the consideration of a contract tender that covers the outcomes of the Sustrans grant.
