Information requested

My request concerns all trains running and/or cancelled, specifically on: Saturday 21st September, between Stirling and Edinburgh.

Response

Please find below the information you requested:-

Saturday 21 September 2019 – Trains between Stirling and Edinburgh Trains planned to run on 21 Sept between Stirling and Edinburgh 104 services Percentage of trains which ran on time (that is, arrived within 5 minutes of the timetabled arrival time) 64.4 percent Percentage of trains cancelled 22.1 percent Number of cancellations and incidents of significant lateness (that is, a train arriving more than half an hour late) 23 services

I understand that the reason for the significant disruption on Saturday 21 September 2019 was as a result of signal failure at Newbridge West Junction, west of Edinburgh. This resulted in ScotRail incurring in total: 1,665 minutes of train delay, 93 cancellations and 104 incidents of cancellations or significant lateness, across all its operations that day.
