Information requested

Scotrail’s reliability and punctuality broken down by off-peak and peak services, for the previous 12 months.

Response

Public Performance Measure (PPM) is a measure of the punctuality and reliability of passenger trains in Britain. It is the percentage of scheduled trains which successfully run their entire planned route, calling at all timetabled stations, and arrive at their terminating station 'on time, or within five minutes of the scheduled destination arrival time. This information is captured in Rail Industry periods which are 4 weekly rather than calendar months and is provided to Transport Scotland within the Franchise Report. The Scottish Government only hold off peak PPM information for the Suburban West. However, further information on ScotRail’s PPM can be found on their website at: https://www.scotrail.co.uk/performance-and-reliability
